Laboratory of Molecular and Cellular Biology - (LMCB)
Our laboratory investigates fundamental processes involved in cell cycle control, genome structure and replication, and the control of gene expression. Individual research groups within the laboratory currently focus on:
• DNA replication
• Cell cycle regulation and nuclear structure
• Evolution, structure and function of the mammalian L1 (LINE-1) retrotransposon
• Regulation of prokaryotic transcription initiation
• Molecular biology of adeno-associated virus type 2 (AAV-2)
• Initial events of steroid hormone action, with an emphasis on glucocorticoid receptors
• Causes and consequences of repeat expansion in Fragile X syndrome and Friedreich's ataxia
