Voting System Certification
EAC is operating the federal government's first voting system testing and certification program. Laboratories that test the voting equipment are assessed by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST). NIST sends a list of recommended laboratories to EAC. The Commission makes the final determination regarding test laboratory accreditation. Participation by the states in EAC's Voting System Certification program is voluntary.
EAC’s full voting system testing and certification program became effective in January 2007. Please check back frequently as the information below will be updated on a regular basis. Accreditation and certification applicants will also find the required forms below.
