USAID, EuroChem Establish Global Development Alliance
On May 23, 2006, USAID/Russia Director Terry Myers and EuroChem Administrative Director Kirill Kravchenko signed a Memorandum of Understanding to establish a Global Development Alliance (GDA). This partnership will focus on improving the quality of life in Nevinnomyssk (Stavropol Kray), promoting healthy lifestyles; involving the local community in protecting the environment; using natural resources more efficiently; and upgrading the agricultural knowledge and skills of the local population. Nevinnomyssk is home to one of EuroChem’s largest facilities and sources of labor. The GDA program commences in July 2006 and will continue until July 2009 through contributions of $900,000 by EuroChem and $300,000 by USAID.
