Building Community
Tracing the Civil Rights Movement

Following the path of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s life, WVU students and faculty made an unforgettable journey across the South, starting at Atlanta’s Ebenezer Baptist Church where Dr. King was co-pastor with his father. Here, group members meet current pastor Rev. Raphael G. Warnock following the church’s 123rd anniversary celebration.

Connecting Globally
West Meets East

WVU students visited Petra, Jordan, a UNESCO world heritage site and one of the new Seven Wonders of the World, during a trip led by Student Affairs. While in the area, students connected with WVU alumni and attended the Education Without Borders conference in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

Launching Ideas
Super Scholars

Five West Virginia high school seniors have earned WVU scholarships valued at over $68,000. Foundation Scholars (from left) Robert Guy, Rebecca Posa, Sara Swanson, Amanda Thorp, and Lucas Pennock were honored May 7 during a ceremony hosted by Gov. Joe Manchin at the state Capitol Complex in Charleston.

Creating Impact
Academic All-Star

Senior Emily Calandrelli is among only 20 students nationwide honored on USA TODAY’s All-USA College Academic First Team. She is the sixth WVU student to earn the award. A mechanical and aerospace engineering major, she is shown here with classmate Corey Snyder on NASA’s “Weightless Wonder” aircraft.
