With many years of experience related to the development of volunteer initiatives and programs, WCNCS is acting as the State’s Citizen Corps Council and coordinating agency. As the lead entity for AmeriCorps and national service in Washington, the WCNCS will help broker federal resources and help expand local community volunteer efforts. The Washington Commission for National and Community Service (WCNCS) in collaboration with the WA State Military Department Emergency Management Division coordinates the Citizen Corps and Homeland Security program activities to streamline the distribution of resources.
