Description

The American Institute for Preventive Medicine is an international health promotion organization that publishes print and online materials and implements group and self-help wellness programs at over 12,000 corporations, hospitals, MCOs, and government agencies. These programs are in the areas of medical self-care, disease management, smoking cessation, weight control, stress management, self-esteem enhancement, fitness, nutrition, women's health, back care, senior health, and how to be a wise health care consumer. In 18 studies, the Institute's self-care materials have demonstrated an average savings of $71.42 per employee in 9 months due to reduced physician and emergency room visits. AIPM provides consultation services to organizations on how to design and implement successful wellness programs.

A series of over 100 booklets, brochures, kits and tracks on various topics in health promotion: Self-care, longevity, fitness, weight control, back care, nutrition, stress, smoking, self-esteem, children's health, adolescent health, women's health, senior citizen health, pregnancy, mental health, and health consumerism. "A Year of Health Hints--365 Practical Ways To Feel Better and Live Longer" -- addresses all the areas of health promotion in a user-friendly health tip-a-day format. Health at Home, and Healthier at Home teach consumers to make more informed health care decisions for over 200 health topics. A Senior's Health at Home edition is also available. AIPM also provides most of its print materials in an online format.
