Description
The GBS/CIDP Foundation International, founded in 1980, provides support for patients and families confronted with Guillain-Barre Syndrome and chronic inflammatory demyelinating polyneuropathy. Both are disorders involving peripheral nerves that present as severe muscle weakness, often paralysis. The foundation provides educational materials for healthcare professionals and the lay public; funds a grant program; advocates for issues affecting its constituency; and holds meetings worldwide to educate and support patients.
