Description

The National Network for Youth is a 22-year old membership organization with over 400 direct members. The Network, with its affiliates, represents over 1,200 constituents, primarily community-based youth-serving agencies. The organization's mission is to ensure that young people can be safe and grow up to lead healthy and productive lives. A driving force for the National Network for Youth in achieving its mission is Community Youth Development (CYD) -- an approach that models best practice in youth work and focuses on lifelong learning in which youth develop skills and competencies to be contributing members to their communities and society. The National Network for Youth actively engages in public education efforts, promotes youth/adult partnerships, and strives to strengthen staff and community-based organization capacity to provide effective programs and services to youth in high-risk situations.

The National Network for Youth publishes papers on a variety of youth services topics, an annual report, public policy alerts, and newsletters. Serial publications: Network News and Policy Reporter (newsletters)--national policy news, legislative developments, and model programs.
