ICPM Strategic Plan

This plan charts the course for the next five years – focusing on the committee’s tremendous technical capabilities to educate and support the property management profession.                

The committee’s overarching mission is to advance the property management profession, to provide innovative property management solutions for the future; and to promote technological innovation in support of property management operations throughout the federal government.

The committee has three strategic goals toward achieving the mission:  

Learning, Growth, and Recognition Strategic Goal: 

  • General Objectives: (1) Promote the exchange of information, knowledge and experience among government agencies. (2) Encourage members to join and participate in subcommittee workgroups. (3)  Improve member confidence through timely, informative, and professionally managed ICPM meetings.
  • Specific Objectives: (1) Form two new subcommittee workgroups per year. (2) Create an ICPM annual peer award and recognition program.  

Business Systems Strategic Goal:

  • General Objectives: (1) Pursue statutory and regulatory property management reforms that are in the best interest of the government. (2) Promote the concept of life-cycle asset management. (3) Promote consensus standards.  (4) Promote the use of JFMIP compliant systems.
  • Specific Objective: Host an annual industry day.

Membership Growth Strategic Goal:

  • General Objective: Increase visibility and membership.
  • Specific Objectives: (1) Develop an executive brief that members can use as a briefing tool to explain the benefits of membership and to gain management support for ICPM initiatives. (2) Seek membership from all cabinet and independent agencies. (3) Develop cooperative alliances with other professions that have an impact on the property management profession.
