Forestry Fire Management Information System (FMIS) Mapping Tool

Welcome to the Florida Division of Forestry's Fire Management Information Systems (FMIS) Internet Mapping Tool. The Division is one of the first in the nation to offer an internet-based mapping tool that allows the general public to access information concerning fire management activity on a state wide basis from one location. This tool uses the latest computer technology to view Florida's current situation regarding wildland fire. This tool is available to assist Division of Forestry cooperators as well as the public at large in assessing what their local concerns might be at any time relating to forest/brush fires in Florida. Using this tool, it is possible to see where all existing/active wildfires are in Florida, where all open burn authorizations are or are planned to be on any particular day, and other incidents that the Division of Forestry has responsibility for resolving. These data are real time. The map will update as incidents occur, so it is very likely that the map at 08:00 AM will be very different from the map at 10:00 AM.

Quick Tips

  • Best viewed with MS IE 6.0 or later. Requires java-script and pop-ups.
  • Avoid double-clicking, which may cause errors. Single-click instead.
  • Wait for the mapping tool to load completely before using.
  • Wait for the "Retrieving Map" or "Retrieving Data" messages
    to clear before continuing.
