USAID partners launch website on HIV/AIDS prevention: http://nam-man.vn

Friday, December 05, 2008

HANOI, December 5, 2008 – Launched today, a new website (http://nam-man.vn) provides consultation on health, gender and sexuality related to HIV prevention information to help reduce transmission of HIV and other sexually transmitted infections among men who have sex with men (MSM) and their sexual partners.

The website also aims to mobilize active participation of MSM in HIV prevention programs. This helps contribute to reduction of stigma and discrimination against the same-sex male populations, and encourages them to access and use HIV prevention, care and treatment services. The website provides technical and scientifically sound information, and consultation services, and is a parallel channel and complement to the new online MSM community forum -- http://adamzone.vn. These two websites are part of HIV prevention efforts in Vietnam supported by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and Family Health International (FHI).

Designed by Consultation of Investment in Health Promotion (CIHP) with technical support from FHI, the website is funded by the U.S. President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) through the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID).
