Workplace Effectiveness

The Applied Research program provides research necessary to improve workplace effectiveness. As the federal government’s premier acquisition and workplace solution agency, GSA is committed to designing and delivering workplaces that maximize long-term economic and strategic value for our customers. Workplace effectiveness, in some cases, will include organizational interventions to enhance how space is used to further the realization of our client’s strategic business goals.

GSA’s Applied Research program has developed and tested techniques tailored to helping our federal clients treat office space, workplace technologies and work processes as an integrated system strategically designed to enhance organizational effectiveness. Drawing on methods developed by leading academic institutions and workplace consultants, the program enabled GSA to forge a common toolkit that provides a cost and time-effective way to design workplaces that best fit the work our clients do, and the ways that work gets done.
