Mississippi Department of Health Flu Update
April 28, 2009 - The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) are currently tracking human cases of swine flu in fives states (California, Kansas, New York, Ohio and Texas). No cases have been detected in Mississippi, but the Department of Health is increasing its flu surveillance and testing to identify possible flu cases as early as possible.

Governor Barbour Schedules Stimulus Summit
April 10, 2009 - Governor Haley Barbour is bringing together state agency heads, legislators and local government officials as well as inviting the public to participate in a Mississippi Stimulus Summit on April 16.

MDOT to Offer Twitter to Evacuees
April 10, 2009 - The Mississippi Department of Transportation will utilize the popular social networking site Twitter to assist in providing traffic information for evacuation routes during the upcoming 2009 hurricane season.

Governor Launches Stimulus Web Site
March 26, 2009 - Congress has enacted an unprecedented economic stimulus package to help shore up state budgets and create jobs, among other goals. It has been estimated the State of Mississippi will receive up to $2.8 billion from the federal government and Governor Barbour's administration is gathering information on the individual programs and applications as details are developed.
