Beltsville Human Nutrition Research Center
Dedication Ceremony - Buildings 307-B and 307-C

August 26, 2003
The Henry A. Wallace Beltsville Agricultural Research Center dedicated new facilities for the Beltsville Human Nutrition Research Center (BHNRC).

Buildings 307B and 307C will house the BHNRC Director's Office, the Diet and Human Performance Laboratory, the Nutrition Requirements and Functions Laboratory, the Phytonutrients Laboratory, and the Human Study Facility.

BHNRC laboratories conduct muti-disciplinary basic science and applied human nutrition research. This research explores the relationships between agriculture, diet and health. The information is important to policy makers, food producers, educators, other scientists and consumers.

The new facilities will be used to conduct research that defines the role of food and its components in optimizing human health and in reducing the risk of nutritionally related disorders.

Scientists at the BHNRC will study how dietary components interact with genetic, physiological, sociological, and environmental factors and how they affect the health of the American population.

Dedication Ceremony - Phyllis Johnson, Director Beltsville Area, addresses the audience and introduces the honored guests on the podium.
