FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE -- Green Bay, WI – (April 8, 2009) - Eillien’s Candies Inc. is conducting a voluntary recall of the products listed below. This voluntary recall is being conducted as a precautionary measure due to the fact that Setton Pistachio of Terra Bella has expanded their recall to include all roasted, shelled and in-shell Pistachio Nuts from the 2008 crop year because they may be contaminated with salmonella.
The below products contain a sell by date prior to 01/08/10 and were sold in Grocery, Drug, and Mass Merchants in CA, CO, IA, ID, IL, KS, MI, MN, MO, MT, ND, NE, OR, SD, UT, WA, WI, WY.
The product listed below should not be consumed, but rather returned to the store for a refund or exchange.

Salmonella is an organism that can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems. Healthy persons infected with Salmonella often experience fever, diarrhea (which may be bloody), nausea, vomiting and abdominal pain. In rare circumstances, infection with Salmonella can result in the organism getting into the bloodstream and producing more severe illnesses such as arterial infections (i.e., infected aneurysms), endocarditis and arthritis.
Eillien’s Candies, Inc. has not received any consumer or customer complaints on this product and there have been no reported illnesses associated with this product.
