Aneurysms usually grow slowly with no symptoms. If they grow large enough to burst (or break open), aneurysms can cause dangerous bleeding and death.
If AAA is found early, it can be treated to stop it from bursting. That’s why it’s so important to talk with your doctor about AAA if you are a man age 65 to 75 with a history of smoking.
