Nonprofit/Personal Use
Nonprofit/personal use is any use that does not generate income or is not used to promote the generation of income.

Potential uses include:

Reproduction of a USPS stamp image for a fundraiser on t-shirts, brochures, invitations, and other similar items.
Reproduction of a USPS image for any personal use.


Commercial Use
Commercial Use is any use by a commercial entity or by a nonprofit entity for profit-making, commercial purposes.

Potential uses include:

Publishing/Corporate/Advertising Use

Reproduction of a USPS stamp image, photo, or mural in a book, textbook or periodical, or for display on a Web site.
Display of USPS logo on Web site to indicate a shipping option.
Use of a USPS image in an Annual Report, corporate brochure, company newsletter, or other such item.

Film and Video Use (Entertainment Use)

Use of a Blue Collection Box, USPS mail truck, or other USPS images in a film, video, or theatrical production.
Permission to film or take photographs on USPS premises.

Permission for any use is granted on a case-by-case basis at the sole discretion of the Postal Service.

Uses NOT Approved Through Rights and Permissions
Use of trademarks by USPS Contractors and Suppliers who wish to show affiliation with the Postal Service.

Use of trademarks and copyrighted images by companies who wish to produce products that will be offered for resale to the Postal Service.

Use of Postal Service trademarks by independent shipping and mailing companies to show that they use our services. These companies must apply through the Partner Program. More information can be found at: http://www.usps.com/alternateaccess/partner.htm
Vendors that are approved through that program are provided USPS branding rights and signage.
