Office of Special Education Programs (OSEP) - Provides leadership and fiscal resources to assist state and local efforts to educate children with disabilities in order to improve results for those children and to ensure equal protection of the law.
U.S. Department of Education - Office of the Chief Information Officer - OCIO develops technological strategies and solutions that enable the Department of Education (ED) to provide world-class service to schools, students and their families.

Private Resources
Federal Resource Center for Special Education - Links regional centers for special education around the U.S. with each other, providing information, technical assistance, and coordination information. The Center also serves as a link for all of the U.S. Department of Education’s Office of Special Education Programs’ technical assistance and dissemination projects.
National Association for Gifted Children (NAGC) - This organization addresses the unique needs of children and youth with demonstrated gifts and talents as well as those children who may be able to develop their talent potential with appropriate education experiences.
National Association of State Directors of Special - Education (NASDSE) operates for the purpose of providing services to State agencies to facilitate their efforts to maximize educational outcomes for individuals with disabilities.
National Dissemination Center for Children with Disabilities (NICHCY) - A national information and referral center that provides information on disabilities and disability-related issues for families, educators, and other professionals. NICHCY’s special focus is children and youth (birth to age 22).
Transition Research Institute at Illinois - Provides information concerning ways to refine educational strategies for transition programs for individuals with disabilities and offers information about current transition models being implemented across the country.
