BROCKTON —

Janet Reid, owner of the eatery on the south end of Brockton, said breakfast is proving to be the meal of the day, the time people go out and Reid’s is enjoying an upswing in business, despite the closing of Shaw’s supermarket a short distance away on Route 28.

Until he became a medical intern, Dr. James Knutson never knew the street value of Percocet and OxyContin.  But now that he's nearly done with his first year residency at Signature Healthcare Brockton Hospital — learning how to become a doctor — Knutson has become skeptical of prescribing these addictive prescription painkillers, especially after one patient came in having overdosed on them. "Sometimes you do have to question the motives and the sincerity and the purity of the complaint," he says.

Brockton bar shut down after sprinkler head goes off for 45 minutes

Bar Dino’s at 1002 Main St. will remain closed until extensive electrical work is done to repair damage caused when a second-floor sprinkler head went off Friday morning, sending water cascading for 45 minutes before the Fire Department was called.
