Drug Detection in Prison Mailrooms

Corrections officials need an effective and efficient method to detect the presence of drugs in the thousands of letters and packages that are processed daily in prison mailrooms. Recent tests of detection systems available in the commercial market identified ion mobility spectrometry as a technology with the potential to improve the mail screening operations in correctional facilities.
