Enhancing Motivation for Change Inservicing Training based on TIP 35

The Enhancing Motivation for Change Inservice Training manual is based on Treatment Improvement Protocol (TIP) 35, Enhancing Motivation for Change in Substance Abuse Treatment. This manual includes materials for supervisors to provide inservice staff training for substance abuse treatment clinicians and other treatment professionals. The manual is written so an extensive background in training is not needed. The inservice training is useful for new counselors or clinicians who are unfamiliar with the basic concepts of motivational enhancement. The manual includes eleven 1½- to 2-hour modules and can be delivered on consecutive days or can be offered over several weeks. Each module includes presentation instructions, PowerPoint slides (that can be copied onto overhead transparencies), homework assignments, and participant handouts.
