The Mid-Atlantic Addiction Technology Transfer Center
(Mid-Atlantic ATTC)
, located at
Virginia Commonwealth University, VCU serves to improve the quality of addiction treatment and recovery services within its region by facilitating alliances among policymakers, treatment agencies, clinicians, consumers and other stakeholders and connecting them to the latest research and information through technology transfer activities. Through a variety of materials, programs and courses, Mid-Atlantic enhances the knowledge and skills of all professionals working the front lines of addiction and mental health treatment. As a Center of Excellence in Motivational Interviewing, Faith-Based and Adolescent resources, we remain the eyes and ears of the treatment and recovery counseling field.

Mid-Atlantic ATTC's Center for Online Courses

A variety of course topics are available for distance learners to initiate or expand their knowledge and application base in the treatment and management of substance use disorders. Courses are designed for addiction counselors, case managers, supervisors, as well as mental health counselors or those treating co-occurring disorders.


 

Leadership Institute

 

With the many challenges facing the addiction workforce, it is important to begin developing leaders for the future. Offered in partnership with the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) Center for Substance Abuse Treatment (CSAT) and Partners for Recovery (PFR), the Mid-Atlantic ATTC Leadership Institute uses a combination of educational experiences and mentoring to prepare addiction professionals for positions of agency leadership.
