Heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) products that have earned the ENERGY STAR meet the government's strict energy efficiency criteria and save energy without compromising on product quality and performance. They use less energy, lowering consumers' utility bills while preventing greenhouse gas emissions.

Each training piece will provide you with up-to-date savings numbers and key messaging to help you, your staff, and your vendors communicate effectively to consumers about the benefits of purchasing products that have earned the ENERGY STAR.

  • Ceiling Fans — Qualified ceiling fans with lights are about 50% more efficient than conventional fan/light units, saving you more than $15 per year in energy costs.
  • Dehumidifiers — A 40-pint ENERGY STAR qualified dehumidifier can save consumers $28 per year. Over the life of the unit, that's more than $300 in savings.
  • Programmable Thermostats — With proper use, programmable thermostats can save consumers about $180 per year in energy costs.
  • Room Air Conditioners — Qualified air conditioners must be at least 10% more energy efficient than the minimum federal standard.
  • Ventilating Fans — ENERGY STAR qualified ventilating fans use more than 70% less energy than standard models.
