Old World Climbing Fern, Lygodium microphyllum

Lygodium microphyllum is a fern native to the Old World, including Africa, Asia and Australia.

Lygodium escaped cultivation in the 1960s and is quickly spreading throughout southern Florida.

  • Climbs trees and shrubs - smothers native vegetation
  • Provides a ladder for fire to reach tree canopies
