Michael T. Brincks - Acting Regional Administrator, Heartland Region

Michael T. Brincks was appointed Acting Regional Administrator of GSA's Heartland Region effective January 20, 2009.

In his role as principal executive of the region, Brincks leads a GSA workforce of more than 1,000 employees. He oversees the region's real estate portfolio of more than 22 million square feet that houses nearly 64,000 federal workers in more than 450 federally owned and leased buildings in Missouri, Iowa, Nebraska and Kansas.

Brincks was the Heartland Region's Deputy Regional Administrator before becoming the Acting Regional Administrator, responsible for directing the day-to-day operations of the Heartland Region's overall functions. He has also held positions as director of several divisions within the Public Buildings Service, including Portfolio Management, West Service and Property Acquisition and Realty Services. Prior to that, he served eight years as an attorney in GSA's Office of Regional Counsel, where he practiced primarily in the areas of real estate, procurement, construction and tort law.

Before joining GSA, Brincks was an attorney with the law firm of Rose, Jackson, Brouillette and Shapiro. There he concentrated in the areas of real estate, construction and corporate law.

Brincks has a bachelor’s of art degree in political science from the University of Iowa and a jurist doctorate from the University of Iowa's College of Law.
