Welcome to the JA Alliance!

The JA Alliance (Juvenile Arthritis Alliance) is a virtual community connected through the Arthritis Foundation Web site. Its members are parents, volunteers, health professionals and anyone who is impacted by juvenile arthritis. The Arthritis Foundation created patient alliances to ensure we have the important voice of people with arthritis represented in the leadership of the organization by fully integrating, and expanding all juvenile arthritis activities throughout the Arthritis Foundation's nationwide structure. JA Highlighted at Congressional Hearing

Mikayla Minnig (a 10 year old with JA) will testify about JA before the House Appropriations Committee, Subcommittee on Labor, Health and Human Services, and Education. Mikayla’s spoken testimony will focus on her story on behalf of the nearly 300,000 other children with JA and the need for more JA research at NIH. The expanded written remarks will include support for Centers for Disease Control and Prevention funding.

National Children’s Study Begins Recruiting Volunteers

The National Institutes of healht (NIH) recently announced that the National Children’s Study will begin recruiting volunteers to take part in its comprehensive study of how genes and the environment interact to affect children’s health. The study will track the health and development of more than 100,000 children from before birth through to their 21st birthday.
