Figure 6.2 is titled "Average Length of Stay (LOS), in Days, of Substance Abuse Treatment Clients Aged 18 or Older, by Facility Type of Care: 1997-1999." The figure is a bar graph, where the horizontal axis shows four facility types of care: (1) outpatient nonmethadone, (2) nonhospital residential, (3) outpatient methadone, and (4) a combination of types of care. The vertical axis represents the average length of stay (LOS) in days.

In 1997-1999, clients aged 18 or older who were discharged from outpatient nonmethadone facilities stayed an average of 147.4 days in treatment.

In 1997-1999, clients aged 18 or older who were discharged from nonhospital residential facilities stayed an average of 54.6 days in treatment.

In 1997-1999, clients aged 18 or older who were discharged from outpatient methadone facilities stayed an average of 481.7 days in treatment.

In 1997-1999, clients aged 18 or older who were discharged from facilities offering a combination of types of care stayed an average of 93.5 days in treatment.
