Figure 5.1 is titled "Percentages of Female Clients in Substance Abuse Treatment Facilities, by Facility Type of Care: 1996-1997." The figure is a bar graph, where the horizontal axis shows six facility types of care: (1) facilities overall; (2) outpatient nonmethadone only; (3) nonhospital residential only; (4) outpatient methadone only; (5) hospital inpatient; and (6) a combination of types of care. The vertical axis represents percentages.

In 1996-1997, among clients in substance treatment abuse facilities overall, 31.9 percent were female.

In 1996-1997, among clients in outpatient nonmethadone-only facilities, 29.8 percent were female.

In 1996-1997, among clients in nonhospital residential-only facilities, 36.1 percent were female.

In 1996-1997, among clients in outpatient methadone-only facilities, 39.4 percent were female.

In 1996-1997, among clients in hospital inpatient-only facilities, 26.6 percent were female.

In 1996-1997, among clients in substance abuse treatment facilities offering a combination of types of care, 34.3 percent were female.
