Global health and population challenges are too large for any single government, agency, or organization to confront alone. USAID’s success has been achieved through close collaboration and strong partnerships with the people and governments of assisted countries, other U.S. government agencies, private voluntary organizations, universities, and private business. USAID also has strong relationships with other bilateral donors and foundations. USAID continues to forge new alliances and support key international efforts.

  • Active Partnerships
USAID supports, enhances, and provides leadership to many global partnerships in the health sector. These partnerships complement USAID's existing programs and, by leveraging new resources, expertise, and technologies, offer greater opportunities to achieve development objectives.

  • Interagency Agreements
The USAID's Bureau for Global Health utilizes the expertise of other key Federal Agencies to support global health related activities.

  • Cooperative Agreements and Contracts
The Bureau for Global Health implements its foreign assistance activities by contributing to programs or purchasing services of U.S. organizations and companies. USAID utilizes cooperative agreements and contracts to achieve results that contribute to the agency's performance goals.

  • Technical Area Partnerships
USAID Technical Area Partnerships work with the people and governments of assisted countries, businesses, non-governmental organizations, academic institutions, other US government agencies and international donor agencies.
