Digital Recording Acquisition Project (Limited Distribution) (A-12-06-26048)

Our objective was to assess the implementation and use of digital recording equipment in the Office of Disability Adjudication and Review (ODAR).

The Digital Recording Acquisition Project (DRAP) offers important new advantages over the previous technology by improving hearing recordings and processes. However, travel units created physical and logistical hardships for ODAR staff and contractors, and protection over the equipment and associated data could be enhanced. We made four recommendations to SSA to improve its use and security of DRAP equipment.
