Estimated Share of Total Electricity and Changes in Emissions

This chart compares EPA green power purchases to carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions associated with EPA's electricity use. As the percentage of electricity used by EPA offices and laboratories coming from green power increases, emissions of CO2 decrease, using FY 1999 emissions as a baseline (the year prior to EPA's first green power purchase).
