National Diabetes Education Program

National Diabetes Education Program

The National Diabetes Education Program (NDEP), a joint program of the National Institutes of Health and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, provides free diabetes information for people with diabetes, those at risk for developing diabetes, and those who care for them. NDEP offers tools specifically designed for older adults, available in English and Spanish, to help them manage their diabetes. These include The Power to Control Diabetes Is in Your Hands brochure, which explains how to check blood glucose levels, manage the ABCs of diabetes, and access Medicare benefits. For caregivers, the Tips for Helping a Person with Diabetes provides tips and resources. National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys

The National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys, Inc. is a non-profit association that assists lawyers, bar organizations and others who work with older clients and their families. National Association of Professional Geriatric Care Managers

NAPGCM was formed in 1984 to advance dignified care for older adults and their families in the United States. Professional Geriatric Care Managers (PGCMs) are professionals who have extensive training and experience working with older people, people with disabilities and families who need assistance with caregiving issues. They assist families in the search for a suitable nursing home placement or extended care if the need occurs. The practice of geriatric care management and the role of care providers have captured a national spotlight, as generations of Baby Boomers age in the United States.
