Kidnetic.com is unique in that it offers activities to get kids up and moving while they are online. It also provides healthy recipe ideas that kids and parents can make together. In addition, the site opens the lines of communication between kids and parents.

Kidnetic.com Leader’s Guide
As word spread about Kidnetic.com, health professionals and educators started asking, “How can we use this website in our educational setting?” In response to this call for innovative educational resources, ACTIVATE developed the Kidnetic.com Leader’s Guide: Healthy Eating & Active Living Ideas & Activities for Kids & Families, an activity-based educational resource.
The Leader’s Guide, based on the content and energy of Kidnetic.com, offers 13 peer-reviewed modules, appropriate for use in community-based health education programs. As a result of numerous pilot programs in 2004-2005, the IFIC Foundation launched an updated version of the Leader’s Guide in 2006, featuring even more hands-on activities for kids and including information about MyPyramid for kids!

What is ACTIVATE?
Kidnetic.com is the first component of ACTIVATE, a healthy eating and active living initiative formed by the International Food Information Council (IFIC) Foundation. ACTIVATE is committed to promoting healthy family lifestyles to help prevent kids from becoming significantly overweight and to reduce their risk of suffering from obesity-related chronic diseases as adults.
