The National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute Health Information
Center
The National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute (NHLBI) Health
Information Center is open Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m.
to 5 p.m. Eastern time (closed on Federal holidays.) Health
Information Specialists are available to assist you and provide
information on diseases of the heart, lung, and blood, and
sleep disorders and accept orders for publications. After
hours, you may leave a voicemail message or send an e-mail,
and your inquiry will be answered the next business day.
As a research institute, the National Heart, Lung,
and Blood Institute does not provide referrals to doctors
nor counsel people on specific medical problems.
Advice on treatment or care of an individual patient should
be obtained through consultation with a physician or other
health professional who has examined the patient and is familiar
with the patient's medical history.
You can contact the NHLBI Health Information Center as noted
below. Please indicate that your request results from a visit
to the NHLBI Web site.
