What you need to use USPS Shipping Assistant
Computer equipped with Windows 2000, 2003, XP Home or Professional, or Vista.
Internet Explorer version 6.0, or higher.
At least 9MB of free space to install and run the program.
Printer to print and preview labels.
Internet connection. (Required to download and register the program, generate labels, and use address and rate features. After installation, continuous Internet connection isn’t required.)

Note: Microsoft .NET 2.0 (required for Shipping Assistant) will be automatically downloaded and installed if it is not present on the local machine. This one-time installation requires an additional 80MB of free disk space.

How to install USPS Shipping Assistant
Note: Administrator privileges are required to install Shipping Assistant.

1) Click the Go button from the “Download now!” box on this page.

2) Follow the instructions in the installation wizard.

Note: Download time depends on your Internet connection speed, and will take 3 to 15 minutes over a high speed connection to complete.

3) After installation is complete, run the program from the desktop icon or Start > All Programs > USPS > Shipping Assistant.

4) The first time Shipping Assistant runs, you must register. In the Shipping Assistant Registration window:
a. Fill in all required fields.
b. If your Internet connection involves a proxy server, click the Connection Settings button and enter the appropriate information.
c. Review the Terms & Conditions by clicking the button, then click the associated checkbox to indicate your agreement.
d. Read the Hazmat terms, then click the checkbox to indicate your agreement.
e. Click the Register button.

Note: Your registration address is validated. Should you experience difficulty registering due to provided address, please verify first at ZIP Code Lookup.

5) Wait while USPS Shipping Assistant launches.
