Figure 4.7 is titled "Nicotine Dependence among Past Month Cigarette Smokers, by Age: 2004." It is a bar graph, where age in years is shown on the horizontal axis, and the percentage dependent on nicotine is shown on the vertical axis. There are 14 age categories.
Among past month cigarette smokers, the percentage dependent on nicotine was 20.8 among 12 or 13 year olds, 34.9 percent among 14 or 15 year olds, 39.6 percent among 16 or 17 year olds, 44.0 percent among 18 to 20 year olds, 47.3 percent among 21 to 25 year olds, 50.1 percent among 26 to 29 year olds, 54.6 percent among 30 to 34 year olds, 60.7 percent among 35 to 39 year olds, 67.9 percent among 40 to 44 year olds, 69.4 percent among 45 to 49 year olds, 71.5 percent among 50 to 54 year olds, 75.8 percent among 55 to 59 year olds, 69.1 percent among 60 to 64 year olds, and 67.3 percent among persons aged 65 or older.
