Figure 4.4 is titled "Current Cigarette Use among Women Aged 15 to 44, by Age and Pregnancy Status, 2003 and 2004 Combined." It is a bar graph, where age in years is shown on the horizontal axis, and the percentage smoking cigarettes in the past month is shown on the vertical axis. For each age category, there is a bar representing pregnant women and a bar representing women who are not pregnant.
Among 15- to- 17-year-old women, the percentage smoking cigarettes in the past month was 26.0 percent among those who were pregnant and 19.6 percent among those not pregnant.
Among 18- to- 25-year-old women, the percentage smoking cigarettes in the past month was 28.0 percent among those who were pregnant and 36.3 percent among those not pregnant.
Among 26- to- 44-year-old women, the percentage smoking cigarettes in the past month was 11.7 percent among those who were pregnant and 29.1 percent among those not pregnant.
