Scheduled Closures:


Kansas City Kansas Processing & Distribution Facility (P&DF) closure.

Consolidation with Kansas City, MO, P&DC expected by the end of May, 2009.

The Kansas City, KS, (KCKS) P&DF is expected to close by the end of May, 2009. The SCF ZIP codes currently handled by the KCKS Plant are 660-662. These ZIP codes will be absorbed and included in the Kansas City, MO, (KCMO) Plant SCF ZIP codes.

For business permit customers, the Kansas City, KS, Business Mail Entry Unit will be relocated to another facility in Kansas City, KS, possibly the Civic Center Post Office, 550 Nebraska Avenue, Kansas City. KS 66101. Mailers who prepare destination entry rate or “discounted” mailings for Sectional Center Facility (SCF) area of 660-662 ZIP Codes can deliver those drop shipments to the Kansas City, MO, P&DC, located at 1700 Cleveland Ave., 64121.


Dallas, TX, Airport Mail Center closes Aug. 29.

The Dallas, TX, Airport Mail Center (AMC) closes permanently Aug. 29. Postal districts with customers sending publications by air freight to the Dallas AMC must make additional arrangements to redirect the air freight publications to the North TX P&DC located at 951 W. Bethel Rd. Coppell, TX 75099-8880. The phone number for the North TX P&DC is 972-393-6199, fax is 972-462-2257.

In order to meet the critical entry time, receipt of air freight publications is requested by 6 p.m. Shippers may use the SCF rate when preparing mailing statements for ZIP Codes listed in the SCF Label List in the Domestic Mail Manual. Tractor-trailers can be accommodated at the North TX P&DC. The dock doors are the standard-height.


Salt Lake City, UT, Airport Mail Center closes Aug. 30.

The Salt Lake City, UT, Airport Mail Center (AMC) closes permanently Aug. 30. Postal districts with customers sending publications by air freight to the Salt Lake City AMC must make additional arrangements to redirect the air freight publications to the Salt Lake City Auxiliary Service Facility (ASF) located at 1795 West 2100 South, Salt Lake City UT 84199-9781. The phone number for the Salt Lake City ASF is 801-978-3093. Fax is 801-978-3034.

In order to meet the critical entry time, receipt of air freight publications is requested by 3 p.m. Shippers may use the SCF rate when preparing mailing statements for ZIP Codes listed in the SCF Label List in the Domestic Mail Manual. Tractor-trailers can be accommodated at the Salt Lake City ASF. The dock doors are the standard-height.


Atlanta Bulk Mail Center Annex
Effective August 30, 2008

All Periodicals will be re-directed to the Atlanta Logistics and Distribution Center 2310 Aviation Blvd. Atlanta, GA 30320-6005 (formerly Atlanta Air Mail Center). Mailers with recurring appointments at the Atlanta BMC Annex (300AX) must request new appointments at the Atlanta L&DC (ATL) after August 29 by using the Facility and Access Shipment Tracking system (FAST).

All other FAST appointments scheduled after August 29 should also be made using facility ID ATL.

Atlanta Bulk Mail Center (ZIP codes 300-301)
Effective August 30, 2008

All mailers currently dropping Standard Mail Flats at the Atlanta BMC for ZIP codes 300-301 will be redirected to the North Metro P&DC 1605 Boggs Rd. North Metro, GA, 30026 in order to continue receiving the SCF discount.
