Version 2.0 is currently under development.
On April 1, 2009, EPA released the final program requirements for ENERGY STAR qualified commercial refrigerators and freezers.
Criteria for Version 5.0 were finalized on November 14, 2008, with an effective date of July 1, 2009. Requirements specific to game consoles will continue through the close of the year.
On November 14, 2008, the Department of Energy released final criteria for ENERGY STAR qualified dishwashers. Criteria were set for two unique effective dates, August 11, 2009 and July 1, 2011.
The Tier 2 requirements in Version 2.0 are currently being revisited.
Criteria for ENERGY STAR qualified Imaging Equipment (Version 1.1) were finalized on October 1, 2008 with an effective date of July 1, 2009.

As previously noted in the February 2008 letter to stakeholders, the ENERGY STAR specification for programmable thermostats will be suspended on December 31, 2009. After this date, the ENERGY STAR label will no longer be available for this product category.

EPA has made a technical amendment to the to Version 4.2 specification which added test procedures for qualification of fixtures employing LED light engines.

Criteria for SSL was finalized Sept 12, 2007 with an effective date of Sept 30, 2008. Version 1.1 with additional applications is effective Feb 1, 2009. Draft criteria for integral LED lamps is under development.
Tier 2 levels are currently under development.
