IRP compliance training (aka "Train the trainer")

To increase customers' understanding of IRP requirements, and to ensure consistent review of customer plans, Western has developed the IRP compliance training program for firm power customers and for Western staff.

The "train the trainer" syllabus is based on standard content criteria in Western's Energy Planning and Management Program, and on the review process for the IRP and the alternative reports, Energy Efficiency/Renewable Energy Report, Minimum Investment Report and Small Customer Plan.

The training explains what elements each plan and annual report must include under law, and how Western reviews plans, evaluates compliance and monitors implementation of the IRP.

NOTE: This training focuses only on the report; not on the planning process itself.

IRP compliance training provides a comprehensive set of guidelines on submitting an IRP for those who are new to the process. Customers who have submitted IRPs before may want to go straight to the checklists or look up specific requirements. Each chapter contains links to corresponding sections of 10 CFR 905 giving the regulation that is the basis for the requirement.
