First Day Stamp Ceremonies
Every year, the U.S. Postal Service hosts official first-day-of-issue ceremonies marking the dedication of each new commemorative postage stamp.

First-day-of-issue ceremonies are generally free and open to the public. These colorful events highlight the subjects featured on the stamp design. A Postal Service representative presides over the stamp dedication and is usually joined by community leaders, subject matter experts, family members and friends of the honoree and, when relevant, celebrities. Please note that dates and locations are subject to change. [Stamp Schedule]
