Helpful Links for Obtaining Grants

We suggest that you visit this site in order to sign up for email alerts of funding streams that may become available in the country or countries where you work.

  • Mission Directory

This link will display the countries in which USAID has a Mission office. It is important to establish relationships with the USAID mission in the countries where you work and check with them as to what their needs are as well as what funding they might have that could be available to your group. Countries expressed needs, referred to as "Strategic Objectives," have an advantage in the grant selection process.

This is a link to a list of all PVO's registered with USAID. Many groups find it beneficial to partner with other NGO's, including groups registered with USAID as Private Voluntary Organizations (PVO's). Frequently groups that have funding seek partnerships to fulfill their goals and these groups might also be a valuable resource in obtaining additional information regarding the funding process.

GrantStation is an interactive website that allows grant seekers to identify potential funding sources for their programs or projects, and mentors them through the grant seeking process. GrantStation provides access to a searchable database of grant makers who are actively accepting inquiries and proposals from a variety of organizations; federal grant deadlines, which are updated twice a week; links to state funding agencies; and a growing database of international grant makers.

This will link you to an e-booklet providing some additional basic information about the Federal grants process. It also lists over 170 programs that may interest your organization. Grants programs are organized into general categories.

  • http://www.whitehouse.gov/government/fbci/quality_proposal.pdf [PDF, 24.4MB]

This link will help you develop grant proposals so you are not denied due to technical mistakes!

  • White House: Guidance for Faith-Based organizations
