Ramona L. McGee currently is Acting Chief Counsel for U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS).  Prior to her tenure as Acting Chief Counsel, Ramona worked as Senate Judiciary Committee counsel (on detail) for Senator John Cornyn (TX), Ranking Member on the Senate Subcommittee on Immigration, Border Security, and Refugees (Jan. 2007 to Jan. 2009). 

Ramona also has served as a Senior Policy Advisor to the DHS Border and Transportation Security Directorate, Office of Policy (Assistant Secretary C. Stewart Verdery) (2003) and worked on international immigration policy issues. Within the USCIS Office of Chief Counsel, Ramona is Chief of the Adjudications Law Division (ALD) and has been an attorney with the DHS (and legacy INS) Office of General Counsel since 1995.  Ramona received her undergraduate degree from Boston College in January 1988 and her Juris Doctorate from Cornell University Law School in 1992.
