On the evening of Saturday March 28, millions around the world turned off their lights for an hour to demonstrate their awareness of the need to conserve energy and reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

An American home can waste, on average, 11,000 gallons of water every year from running toilets, dripping faucets, or other household leaks.  March 16-20 is Fix a Leak week.

Every 13 seconds, U.S. Poison Control Centers receive a call about someone being exposed to a poison. Forty percent of those cases involve a child under three years of age.  March is National Poison Prevention Month.
