Negotiated Service Agreements

Negotiated Service Agreements take customer responsiveness to the next level. Negotiated Service Agreements, or NSAs, are a new concept being employed by the Postal Serviceā„¢ with the objective of tailoring service to a customer's unique business needs.

A Negotiated Service Agreement is a contractual agreement between the U.S. Postal ServiceĀ® and an individual company that provides customized pricing incentives or other arrangements justified by a shift in the company's mail operations. NSAs are intended to meet the needs of specific customers for whom mail is an integral part of their business strategy.

Negotiated Service Agreements require direct negotiation with the U.S. Postal Service. To become effective, changes in prices and classifications needed to implement the proposed NSA must be reviewed and recommended by the Postal Regulatory Commission (PRC) and approved by the U.S. Postal Service Board of Governors.
