July 12, 2000 Volunteer Meeting

The group discussed the direction of the working group and areas for improvement. In addition to the current brown-bag luncheon sessions, the group agreed that member agencies would benefit from expanded services. The following additional services were discussed and are under review.

  • Administration of an ADR mentoring program
  • Evaluate the benefits of creating a mini-arbitration program
  • Creation of a universal roster of neutrals
  • Creation of a universal roster of trainers
  • Mediator and other neutral training opportunities (shared costs)
  • Development of a database of shared ADR training forms and materials
  • Co-mediation opportunities

The members agreed to conduct research on their topics and reconvene on July 26 from 3:00 - 4:00pm to continue discussions. The meeting will be held at US Postal Headquarters, 475 L'Enfant Plaza SW, Room 2131.

All working group members who are interested in becoming involved in any of these initiatives, or who have ideas for additional initiatives, are encouraged to attend this next meeting.
