Colorado's Front Range has become a land of summer peaks where air conditioners are the nemesis, and United Power has chosen the heat pump as its weapon.

A generous rebate program encourages customers of Sacramento Municipal Utility District to trade in their noisy, smoky gas-powered mowers for a quiet, emissions-free electric mower.

Utilities can find the tools they need to create energy-efficiency programs for large, industrial customers through DOE's Industrial Technologies Program.

Heat-pump water heaters can meet most of a household's hot water needs using about half as much electricity as conventional electric water heaters.

DOE's Industrial Technologies Program offers power providers no- and low-cost resources to help them reduce their industrial customers' costly energy bills.
