NHGRI Planning Process Workshops
Workshops and Other Meetings Already Planned
NHGRI is planning a series of workshops to inform its long-range planning process. Most of these workshops will be by invitation only, but some will be open. If there are additional workshops that you feel NHGRI should host, please share your thoughts with us by submitting your comments through the comment box below.
The workshops and meetings that will feed into the NHGRI planning process will focus on the following subjects.

- Social and behavioral research in genomics: September 2008
- Health disparities, race, and genomics summit: September 2008
- Standards for quality of genomic data and messages in recent evidence for natural selection in the human genome: October 2008
- The Dark Matter of Genomic Associations with Complex Diseases: Explaining the Unexplained Heritability from Genome-Wide Association Studies: February 2009
Upcoming Workshops
- The Future of Sequencing: March 2009
- Language of Transcription Workshop: Fall 2009
- Large Summary Meeting, similar to the Airlie House meeting held in 2003: Spring 2010
In addition to the workshops listed above, NHGRI programs regularly hold grantee meetings and these meetings will be another avenue for participants to discuss the planning process.
