Western Area Power Administration’s Energy Services is holding a contest seeking out the next idea to promote Energy Star’s “Change the World” campaign. Open to families of Western customers and employees (especially children), the goal is to come up with an innovative way for individuals to make a difference in the fight against global warming. Western customers may be eligible for Federal block grants

The Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant (EECBG) Program is offering more than $2.7 billion to assist state, local, territorial and tribal governments in improving energy efficiency in all sectors. Deadline for states to apply is May 26, 2009. Applications for cities, counties and Indian tribes are due June 25, 2009.  

IRP submission training now online

Energy Services has created an online training program to walk our customers through the requirements for submitting an integrated resource plan. The program will help increase customers' understanding of the IRP requirements and ensure a consistent review process. Read more about online IRP training in the March Energy Services Bulletin.

Equipment Loan Program seeks new tools

The Equipment Loan program, which allows Western customers to “test-drive” technical diagnostic tools and education kits, is looking for new technologies to add to its library.

Have you heard about a new tool that could increase your operation’s efficiency or help your consumers cut their energy costs? Maybe you would like more units of an in-demand technology, like our popular infrared cameras.

Use the online Equipment Request Form to submit your suggestions, and enter your idea in the “Comments” field. You can also call the Equipment Loan program manager with your requests at 720-962-7420.
