ATF Offers Reward In Mississippi Gun Store Murder-Robbery

OXFORD, Miss. - The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) announced today that it is re-publicizing a reward of up to $5,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person(s) responsible for a robbery and murder occurring 3 years ago at a gun store, located at 1002 Lee Drive, Clarksdale, MS.

On Tuesday, April 18, 2006, shortly after 4 p.m., an employee of the North Delta Gun Shop, 1002 Lee Drive, Clarksdale, Miss., was shot during a robbery at the store and later died. The suspect(s) fled the store with 22 stolen guns.

Before the robbery, witnesses observed a dark colored, four door sedan at the store. Authorities need to speak to the occupants of this vehicle as they may have information about this crime.

“This was a brutal violent crime, and this investigation remains a top priority for ATF,” said Resident Agent in Charge Lisa Green. “We all have a vested interest in arresting those responsible and recovering the stolen guns. Solving this crime will continue to be a team effort between ATF, the Clarksdale Police Department, the Mississippi Bureau of Investigation, the Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics and the Clarksdale community, added Green.”

Anyone with information in helping to solve this crime is encouraged to call ATF’s toll-free, 24-hour hotline at 1-888-ATF-TIPS (1-888-283- 8477) or the Clarksdale Police Department at (662) 621-8154.
